About the role
As a Lead Technician at FC Traffic Control, you’ll oversee a team of skilled technicians, guiding them through projects that make a real difference in our communities. You’ll be hands-on, working in the fresh air, and ensuring that every job is completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the unloading and setup of materials such as cones, signs, and posts to prepare work zones for action.
- Ensure construction areas are measured, marked, and perfectly aligned for efficient progress.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of tools and materials, ensuring everything is ready for a seamless installation.
- Manage tasks like digging post holes, erecting signs, and cleaning up debris, keeping the site organized and safe.
- Lead the team in hands-on tasks using a variety of hand and power tools to complete work efficiently and to standard.
- Safely direct and oversee the management of traffic around work zones, ensuring the safety of your crew and the public.
- Oversee the work of technicians, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Manage company vehicles and equipment, keeping everything in top condition and ready for the next project.
- Inspect traffic control devices for defects, ensuring everything is in perfect working order.
- Improve customer service and satisfaction through effective leadership and communication.
Requirements
- Ability to lead by example and motivate your team to achieve their best.
- Quick thinker who can identify issues and find effective solutions on the spot.
- Ability to clearly communicate with your team, customers, and the public.
- Physical stamina to tackle tasks in various outdoor environments.
- Must be able to stoop, squat, crawl, climb, and perform other physical duties as needed for installations.
- Must be able to traverse uneven terrain in all types of weather.
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to work weekends and at night, when needed.
- Must have prior traffic control experience.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Willing to travel to other FC Traffic locations.
- Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Must have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years, with an acceptable MVR.
