About the role

The position serves under administrative direction and is responsible for planning and coordinating the work of vendors to develop a quality assurance program ensuring that Food & Nutrition Services inspections and corrective action plans meet or exceed food service standards. This includes overseeing vendor repairs on kitchen equipment and conducting evaluations of operating problems.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner.
  • Evaluates and implements quality control procedures for refrigeration and gas cooking appliances.
  • Reviews and assists in preparing contracts and specifications for vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Organizes and conducts audits of completed work, prepares corrective action plans, and ensures compliance with SREF or industry standards.
  • Analyzes data for trends indicating improvement needs and makes recommendations for training to enhance quality control processes.
  • Inspects and evaluates work in progress, traces electrical circuits, and diagnoses and repairs problems using diagnostic tools.
  • Ensures compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Performs related duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED supplemented by at least five (5) years of progressively knowledgeable and responsible experience in commercial food service appliances.
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification required.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Able to maintain accurate records and paperwork.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Read and understand manufacturer schematics and symbols.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class D).

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex documents and instructions.
  • Proficiency in using standard hand tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer software and applications relevant to the job.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
