Trades Staff HVAC Technician, Facilities

About the Role

The Trades Staff HVAC Technician is a key support position for maintaining the physical plant of Woodward Academy, reporting to the Trades Supervisor and Assistant Director of Facilities-Operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform PMs on split systems, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, rooftop package units, and all HVAC equipment.
• Maintain and perform PMs on all Trades systems under the supervision of the proper tradesman as assigned.
• Repair and/or replace outdoor street lighting and poles.
• Procure and maintain supplies.
• Adhere to safety regulations and practices, and lead safety meetings when requested.
• Maintain comprehensive records of work performed.
• Maintain the assigned Woodward Academy vehicle and its contents.
• Update and maintain physical plant repair center information in the TMA database, including work orders and preventative maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Facilities or Facilities Director.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and exercise self-discipline.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with diverse individuals in an educational environment.
• Ability to analyze equipment for potential repair needs and communicate findings to supervisors.
• Physical ability to lift 60 lbs, perform arm and shoulder tasks, work in confined spaces, and work in inclement weather.
• Ability to climb ladders and operate various types of lifts (single man, scissor, articulating).
• Basic electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid Georgia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
