About the role

Facilities HVAC Technicians support maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and install of electrical and mechanical equipment within Tesla's Gigafactory Texas facility. Facilities HVAC Technicians utilize technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills, while working as a team with the entire Facilities Operations and Maintenance departments, performing general HVAC maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on various types of industrial equipment as needed (typically mechanical equipment)
• Utilize equipment drawings and manuals to maintain and troubleshoot equipment
• Identify parts required for maintenance jobs and coordinate requesting various parts for jobs
• Communicate equipment issues with leadership and drive solutions to issues
• Display positive attitudes and practice good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience as an HVAC Technician (non‑construction)
• Universal EPA license holder

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals, drawings, parts lists, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed

Skills

• Proficient in using vacuum pumps and gauges to pull refrigerant, and skilled in using hand tools and power tools
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of management
• High degree of initiative, with ability to work independently and effectively with other people and teams
• Written and verbal command of the English language
