Trades Generalist, SG-12

About the role

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Division of the New York State Fair is seeking two permanent Trades Generalist, SG-12 to work in the Carpentry Shop at the New York State Fairgrounds. These positions assist in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment in support of State Fair operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level work in one trade
• Perform skilled and semiskilled level work in a combination of other trades
• Aid in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment
• Work in a comfortable, free-parking work environment at 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, New York

Requirements

• Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program
• An equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services
• Valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Completion of a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program in a skilled trade

Pay

The starting salary for the CSEA SG-12 position is $50,425/year. Performance advances may lead to a salary of $61,548/year.

Schedule

These positions offer full-time hours, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
