OUR MISSION
The mission is to ensure the physical, operational, and financial integrity of the regional flood risk management system in southeastern Louisiana as a defense against floods and storm surge from hurricanes. We accomplish this by working with local, regional, state, and federal partners to plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain projects that reduce the probability and risk of flooding for residents and businesses within our jurisdiction.

About This Position

The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Regional Director, Facilities Maintenance Manager A, the Master HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic, the Electrician Specialist Leader, and the Plumber/Pipefitter Master.

Job Duties

• Affords assistance by performing facility inspections and making repairs to buildings, grounds, outbuildings, street lighting, mechanical repairs to all operational equipment, such as, a/c & heat systems, and any other items needed for daily operational use.
• Works with the a/c & heat system and performs the detailed daily routine of checking and making notes of all chillers, water towers, and air handler units. Includes all pumps for chilled water and cooling tower water, checking gauges for proper pressures and temperatures for optimal operational use. Makes notes for records and makes any adjustments as needed.
• Performs monthly filter cleaning/changing and annual PM routines. Includes maintenance on ice makers and shop equipment.
• May provide plumbing services, including minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and quarterly inspections of flood control valves and completing valve maintenance inspection reports.

• Appointment Type: Probational
• Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group and may be filled as a Trades Apprentice, Maintenance Repairer 1, or Maintenance Repairer 2.
• Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
