Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and the principles of operation and application of equipment.
- Repairs, constructs, adjusts, modifies, installs, and services various types of electronic and electrical machinery and equipment throughout the property as required.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit. Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Perform normal functions of Maintenance Technician when not performing electrical work.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Licensed Journeymen must have 3+ years’ of electrical experience
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, and hoists.
- Knowledge of frame carpentry for renovation projects is a plus
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
