Trade Show Project Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the sales and design departments to ensure the project aligns with the conceptual vision and client expectations.
  • Estimate project costs and assist Account Executives (AEs) with proposal wording.
  • Oversee the development of production specification drawings.
  • Order all project specific materials and hardware, issue purchase orders, and account for all project costs and variances.
  • Manage subcontractor support for specialty items.
  • Daily communication with the shop foreman relating to fabrication details and changes as they arise.
  • Initiate and lead weekly project-specific meetings and communicate results to all affected team members.
  • Create crate content lists and shipping manifests in collaboration with the logistics department.
  • Create a setup package for on-site managers with assistance from the detailing department.
  • Initiate and lead post-event meetings with the emphasis on improvements in process and procedures that can be applied to future projects.
  • Mentor and help develop career paths for junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Ability to travel and work weekends as needed for trade show events.
