Job Responsibilities

  • Audits, controls, and continuous improvement support for external customs audits.
  • Conducts internal reviews to assess effectiveness and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintains the master list of customs brokers and Powers of Attorney.
  • Analyzes declaration data from brokers to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Oversees accurate HS classification and customs valuation to ensure compatibility with CETC and regulatory requirements (US and relevant Canada cross-border trade).
  • Resolves historical origin/FTA issues and implements preventive measures (USMCA and other FTA).
  • Supports CETC special projects and drives regional implementation across US and Canada operations.
  • Identifies opportunities for new CETC projects to enhance compliance and efficiency.
  • Supports data analytics for trade KPIs and compliance dashboards.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of customs legislation with a focus on North America (including Canada).
  • Proven experience in trade compliance and internal and external auditing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex trade data and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Efficient communicator (written and verbal), adept at stakeholder management and training non-experts.
  • Extensive digital literacy; proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and collaboration tools.
  • Professional English language skills.

Education Requirements

A relevant university degree or higher, supplemented by relevant professional training.

Required Experience

At least 7 years active experience as a customs specialist, working in a large or medium-sized company. Previous roles should include the filing of customs and excise declarations, internal auditing, data processing, and reporting.

Additional Information

The TCS will be working in the corporate Customs & Excise Trade Compliance function of the ADM organization. The TCS reports to the Sr. Manager CETC Canada. The TCS will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $53,100.00 - $93,600.00
