We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trade Compliance Specialist to manage our day-to-day trade compliance operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary daily contact for our customs brokers and carriers, driving product classification, and ensuring full compliance with Partner Government Agencies (PGAs). If you have a passion for entertaining and timeless quality, then join our team as a Trade Compliance Specialist This is a key hands-on position responsible for maintaining high data accuracy, conducting routine operational audits, and supporting global trade activities across import, export, and cross-border operations. This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on FridaysThis role is an Individual Contributor position A day in the life as a Trade Compliance Specialist… Serve as the primary daily point of contact for customs brokers and carriersAddress operational inquiries, resolve entry holds, and ensure smooth import clearanceDetermine, validate, and maintain accurate Harmonized System (HS/HTS) tariff classifications for all incoming products within our compliance databaseIdentify, validate, and manage PGA requirements (e.g., FDA, EPA, Lacey, CPSC) to ensure proper regulatory reporting and seamless clearanceValidate Country of Origin (COO) determinations and ensure proper additions and deductions from duty values (assists, royalties, freight, etc.) are accurately declared on import documentationPerform routine audits on broker entry summaries shipping documentation, and internal trade records to ensure regulatory adherence and operational accuracyProvide operational trade oversight for shipments to Canada, international franchise partners, and cross-border supply chain movements What you’ll bring to the table… 2+ years of direct experience in import/export trade compliance or customs operationsStrong expertise in HTS classification methodologies and daily customs broker interactionKnowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and entry proceduresExperience identifying and managing Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements We’d love to hear from you if you have… Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified U.S. Import Professional (CUSIP), Preferred Familiarity with Canadian import/export regulationsExperience with customs valuation rules and entry summary auditing
