Tractor Trailer Driver/RTD - Apprentice-3

FMCSA covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam and regulatory alcohol & drug testing (including marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids) required. Must be at least 21 years of age.

About the role

Drives tractor-trailer vehicle to designated locations and operates mechanized loading/unloading equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Hours are subject to change due to operational need. Mandatory overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Six (6) months of experience (FedEx Express experience preferred)
• Ability to drive manual transmission preferred
• Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Customer contact and package handling experience preferred
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Neat appearance since customer contact is involved
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance
• Must obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for the type of vehicle assigned within 90 days
• Good driving record as outlined in policy
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Pay

$23.09 - $33.84 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM
