Tractor Trailer Driver/RTD - Apprentice

About the role

This position involves driving tractor-trailer vehicles to designated locations and operating mechanized loading/unloading equipment. Duties may also include performing other tasks as directed.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer vehicles to designated locations
• Operate mechanized loading/unloading equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum Experience: Six (6) months FedEx Express experience preferred
• Job Conditions: FMCSA covered safety sensitive position. Medical exam required. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids.
• Job Conditions: Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must obtain & maintain valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) & a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for type of vehicle assigned within 90 days & have good driving record as outlined in policy.
• Job Conditions: Neat appearance since customer contact is involved.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive manual transmission preferred
• Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 Lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Customer contact & package handling experience preferred
• Good human relations & verbal communication skills
• Neat appearance since customer contact is involved
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Skills

• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance

The actual pay is determined by several job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, including, but not limited to, experience relative to the job, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment.

FULL TIME PM OVERNIGHT MONDAY-THURSDAY. DOMOCILED AT HVNA LOCATION
