Tractor Trailer Driver/RTD - Apprentice-1

FMCSA covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam and regulatory alcohol & drug testing required, including testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer vehicle to designated locations.
• Operate mechanized loading/unloading equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Maintain neat appearance due to customer contact.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months of FedEx Express experience preferred.
• Ability to drive manual transmission preferred.
• Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Customer contact and package handling experience preferred.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to inquiries.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) within 90 days.
• Good driving record as outlined in policy.

Pay

$23.09 - $33.84 per hour
