About the role
A Track Maintenance Team Member is responsible for maintaining and repairing railroad track and related infrastructure to support safe and efficient rail operations. This hands-on role includes operating tools and equipment, handling materials, and performing routine maintenance in an outdoor work environment. Successful Team Members are safety-focused, reliable, and enjoy physical work that keeps freight moving across the rail network.
Hourly Pay Rate: $19.00 (entry level) up to $21.00 with experience
Shift/Schedule: 6:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday
Responsibilities
- Supports daily terminal, vessel, and warehouse operations
- Communicates with superintendents, foremen, and management to determine staffing needs and prioritize workflow
- Operate and maintain equipment for safe transfer of materials between silos, railcars, barges, and vessels
- Supports communication between drivers, warehouse teams, and management using radio and digital systems
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), PPE policies, and all safety and environmental regulations
- Perform maintenance, inspections, and additional operational duties as assigned to support terminal and vessel efficiency
- Perform tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
- Follow all company standards, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety principles
Requirements
- Work effectively as part of a team, follow directions, and take on additional responsibilities as assigned
- Maintain regular attendance, dependability, and high performance standards
- Read, write, communicate in English, understand basic math, and apply instructions with good judgment
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including day and night shifts, with availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs
- Must be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent
- HAZMAT TWIC certification required
