Track & Backside Maintenance II

Pay: $22/hour with flexible pay schedule (daily, weekly, or biweekly).

Responsibilities

• Cross-train to learn all aspects of preparing the main track, training track, horse paths, and paddock areas for racing and training daily.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tractors, floats, box harrows, double gangs, water truck, horse ambulance, and conditioners, adjusting usage based on weather conditions.
• Keep all equipment clean, well-maintained, and properly set; inspect, monitor, and report any issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintain the racetrack, horse paths, and paddock in good condition, including shoveling the board on the inside rail and outside fence, addressing washouts, clearing drains in the infields, and performing other labor tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class B driver’s license (CDL with Air Brakes), with a safe driving record meeting company insurance standards.
• Ability to use rakes, shovels, and a four-wheeler.
• Experience operating skid loaders and various types of heavy equipment safely and cautiously.
• Strong communication skills to interact verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, around heavy track equipment and horses.
• Physical ability to stand or walk for an eight-hour shift, bend, perform overhead work, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Potential exposure to chemicals.
