Tourism Aviation Maint Tech

Job Summary

The AMT is responsible for ensuring maintenance performed is in accordance with FAA and manufacturer's standards, adhering to company policies and regulations.

About the Role

Based in Hawaii, this position may require travel to other bases. Duties include performing maintenance, conducting inspections, troubleshooting, and signing off on completed tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on aircraft, powerplants, and related articles within qualification.
• Conduct daily maintenance tasks, including scheduled and unscheduled work.
• Ensure airframe, engine, and electrical systems are properly maintained and troubleshoot issues.
• Replace engines, transmissions, and other components as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities, aircraft, and equipment.
• Sign off on completed tasks according to FARs.
• Conduct 100-hour and 500-hour inspections.
• Ensure safety and compliance with FAA regulations and company policies before returning aircraft to service.
• Document maintenance activities accurately and submit records in a timely manner.
• Communicate progress and status of work to other mechanics.
• Provide recommendations for training and process improvements to supervisor.
• Input maintenance records and ensure accuracy.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding equipment and tool issues.
• Supervise Mechanic Apprentice or Helper if assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, with one to three years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Manufacturer's and company training on relevant aircraft models.
• Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
• Good communication, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility in working under various weather and temperature conditions.
• Able to lift 70 pounds, climb, and work in high areas.
• Comfortable working around operating aircraft and handling hazardous materials.
• 40-60 hours per week, subject to change based on workload.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Manufacturer's and company training on Eurocopter/Turbomeca AS350B2 and EC130B4 and EC130T2.
• Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.

Additional Job Requirements

• Regular scheduled attendance.
• Subject to applicable laws and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters policies.
• Must follow Blue Hawaiian Helicopters employment practices and policies.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

• Flexibility in working under various weather and temperature conditions.
• Comfortable and safe in working near operating aircraft.
• May come into contact with cleaning fluids, solvents, oils, and fuels.
• Able to lift 70 pounds.
• Able to climb and work in high areas such as transmission decks.
• Able to fit into tight spaces and work on feet during entire work shift.
