Tour Director

About the Role

Grand Circle Corporation is the largest American direct marketer of international travel, adventure, and discovery for Americans aged 50 and older, having served more than 1 million travelers since 1958. We are seeking Program Directors (Tour Directors) who are willing to take risks and challenge themselves to provide travelers with unforgettable experiences on our escorted tours.

• The Canadian Maritimes (13 Days)
  • Destinations: Halifax, Baddeck, Charlottetown, Saint John, Quebec City, Montreal, St. John’s
• The Canadian Rockies (14 Days)
  • Destinations: Calgary, Banff, Jasper, Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience guiding tours in the above destinations
• Passion for the destinations, their people, culture, and traditions
• Ability to go beyond touristy destinations to connect travelers with locals
• Knowledge of the destinations (history, everyday life, nature, culture)
• Flexibility, teamwork, and leadership skills
• Ability to make quick decisions to address last-minute changes
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel

Responsibilities

• In charge of the program's overall quality and delivering an unforgettable experience for travelers
• Deliver all information about the destination, program, and schedule
• Understand travelers' expectations (especially IC Members) and focus on their enjoyment of the trip
• Reconfirm every service with suppliers
• Represent GCT to maintain a cordial and formal relationship with partners
• Listen to travelers' feedback, take notes, and communicate with the GCT Office

Pay

• Salary: $220 USD daily rate (with up to 20% increase after 3 years based on performance)
• Gratuity: $7–$10 USD per person per day (average group size: 35)
• Incentive: Up to an additional 40% of your base salary upon achieving Excellence goals
