About the role

Construct, refurbish and repair mold components using CNC and manual machines.

Journeyman Level I: Assist Area Supervisor in organizing and directing the activities of employees in the primary area.

Responsibilities

  • Use caution and support systems to assure a safety event-free facility.
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
  • Observe, respond, and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.
  • Maintain security diligence, including control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry, and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.
  • Successfully complete primary duties and associated training.
  • Pause activities and notify Safety lead regarding potentially unsafe work environments or practices.
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of non-conformity of product, service, or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify implementation of solutions.

Primary Duties

  • Operate assigned CNC or manual machines.
  • Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components.
  • Assist superiors in day-to-day activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Level III

  • Develop a better understanding of machine functions and the setup process.
  • Learn Mastercam, CNC, and/or Mazatrol programming.
  • Learn how to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.

Level II

  • Hold tight tolerances in efficient time.
  • Program using Mastercam, CNC, and/or Mazatrol.
  • Perform general CNC operations from setup to finish dimension.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Develop skills in quality investigation, CMM operation, Assembly, or other focus areas within the Tool Shop.
  • Use shop schedule to accurately schedule operations within individual work cell.
  • Assist superiors with workflow in the shop and completion schedule.

Level I

  • Train and assist Level III and II Journeymen to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.
  • Read blueprints and direct others on processes.
  • Use shop schedule to accurately schedule projects within area cells.
  • Assist superiors with decision-making in machining processes, quality investigation, and/or CMM operation.

Requirements

  • High school education/GED equivalent.
  • Ability to occasionally climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas without posing a safety risk to others.
  • Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
  • Able to accurately read blueprints.
  • Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.
  • Able to stand/walk for 7.5 hours of an 8-hour shift.

Journeyman Level III

  • Must be a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker or have equivalent experience.
  • Has experience in at least one of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality, and/or Assembly.

Journeyman Level II

  • Strong work history of consistent attendance and overtime flexibility.
  • Must be a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker or have equivalent experience.
  • Has significant experience in at least two of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality, and/or Assembly.
  • Ability to program using Mastercam, CNC, and/or Mazatrol.
  • Understands the injection or blow molding process and how each component affects the total outcome.

Journeyman Level I

  • Must be a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker.
  • Strong work history of consistent attendance and overtime flexibility.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of Mastercam, CNC, and/or Mazatrol software.
  • Fully understand the injection or blow molding process and how each component affects the total outcome.
  • Significant expertise in two or more of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality, and/or Assembly.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
