About the Role
Pioneer Metal Finishing is the leading surface engineering company in North America, delivering consistent, quality metal finishing solutions for mission-critical applications in healthcare, aerospace, automotive, and industrial markets. This role works directly with Production and Quality Assurance to design efficient tooling, maximize load density, and meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Build and adjust racks and tooling to maximize load density and efficiency, ensuring good electrical contact and secure part placement.
- Fabricate racks to meet customer requirements and develop hand tools to improve efficiency and quality.
- Work directly with hand/air/power tools, gauges, and measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with the Quality department to write procedures for special and basic production tooling.
- Coordinate with Production and Team Leaders to prioritize tooling requirements, maintenance schedules, and procedures.
- Advise supervisors if tooling needs cannot be met on time and assist in problem-solving.
- Perform machining operations such as drilling, milling, reaming, tapping, grinding, and cutting.
- Recognize and report machine malfunctions or irregularities.
- Maintain a positive attitude and promote teamwork between Tooling, Production, and QA departments.
- Communicate effectively with various departments and vendors.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Exposure to sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, and occasional hot/cold temperatures and humidity.
- Moderate noise levels; hearing protection required.
- Must differentiate between color variances.
- Potential splash exposure near process lines.
- Use of various chemicals in the process.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, creative, and organized.
- Ability to communicate accurately through oral and written means.
- Team-oriented mindset.
Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Occasional Saturdays as needed.
Pay
Starting at $19.50/hour. Performance and pay review after 90 days. Same-day pay available.
