Tooling Tech Trainee
About the role
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a Tooling Technician Trainee. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the changeover and setup of tube mill roll tooling to ensure continuous operation during shifts.
Responsibilities
- Safety, quality, and prioritizing above all
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area through 5S practices
- Cross-train team members on mill setups
- Follow standardized set-up charts
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using special measuring devices such as calipers, tape measure, and micrometers
- Ability to work collaboratively with others for equipment safety and operation
- Attention to detail
- Capacity to retain and apply taught information
- Ability to meet negotiated timelines
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs
- Effective communication skills to facilitate smooth mill operations and material handling
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and conditions to support mill requirements
- Willingness to contribute to and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
