About the role
The Summary Tool Maker Trainee program at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) is designed to equip individuals with the skills necessary to support the production of trusted national security products and services for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration. Trainees will attend a 9-month classroom training program followed by 9 months of on-the-job machining training.
Responsibilities
- Attend a 9-month custom Tool and Die classroom training program
- Complete 9 months of on-the-job machining training
- Obtain a certificate in the Tool and Die program upon completion of classroom training
- Pass a Tool Maker assessment to be converted to a Tool Maker position
Requirements
- US Citizenship
- Able to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q level security clearance
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work any shift
- Machine Tool Technology or Mill and Lathe Certification from an accredited college OR two (2) or more years of experience in machining complex parts and assemblies OR applicable military experience
