About the role
Join us as a Tooling Repair Technician at our Rock Hill manufacturing facility. Work in a high-tech, specialist company serving global leaders in aerospace, medical, semiconductor, and clean energy. This role supports customer needs for re-tooling equipment, ensuring all tooling is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning tooling using diagnostic instruments to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble equipment tooling and related components to set specifications.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and prevent unexpected failures.
- Test repaired equipment and tools to ensure compliance with safety and customer regulations, and optimal performance standards.
- Manage inventory by tracking tooling received per customer, ordering spare parts, and maintaining an organized repair area and inventory log.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and warranty paperwork within Microsoft D365.
- Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives by applying lessons learned.
- Travel to customer locations within the U.S. or worldwide as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology, or proven equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience with demonstrated proficiency in machine repair (electrical and mechanical), preferably in a tooling repair or precision tooling service role.
- Physically able to hold, repair, and adjust small tools; squat, stoop, bend, climb, twist, lift, pull, reach up and out; lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- May involve exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical parts; proper use of PPE is required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or existing Green Card Holder due to customer facility access requirements.
