About the role

The Tool Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing tooling, manufacturing processes, part progressions, and detailed tooling drawings required to produce fasteners that meet customer print specifications and industry standards. This role will also support the identification and implementation of process improvements aimed at increasing production rates, extending tooling life, and enhancing part quality. This position will work closely with the Forming, Tooling, and Wire Processing departments to ensure optimal tool performance and consistent quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tooling, manufacturing processes, part progressions, and detailed tooling drawings
  • Support the identification and implementation of process improvements
  • Ensure optimal tool performance and consistent quality through collaboration with Forming, Tooling, and Wire Processing departments
  • Work with safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with 3D design software, such as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Basic knowledge of nut/bolt cold forming principles
  • Experience in tool design, mechanical design, or a related manufacturing engineering role
  • Hands-on experience with tooling, dies, fixtures, or cold-forming processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of nut/bolt cold forming principles, experience in tool design, mechanical design, or a related manufacturing engineering role, hands-on experience with tooling, dies, fixtures, or cold-forming processes, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Pay

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
