About the role
The role of Tooling Designer involves designing and developing molds and tools used in manufacturing processes. This includes creating detailed drawings, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop molds and tools for various manufacturing processes
- Create detailed drawings and specifications for tooling components
- Select appropriate materials and evaluate their suitability for different applications
- Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new tooling solutions into production processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mold and tool design
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of material properties and their impact on tooling performance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications
- Experience with injection molding and die casting processes
- Knowledge of quality assurance and inspection techniques
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry certifications
