Tooling and Gaging Technician

About the role

A to Z Machine Company is seeking a Tooling & Gaging Technician to keep the CNC shop running smoothly by supporting tooling, gaging, and shop‑floor operations. The position is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and essential to the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, inspect, clean, and organize tooling & gaging.
• Check gages in and out for shop‑floor use.
• Tear down and assemble tooling as needed.
• Set up tooling and gaging lists for machinists.
• Keep tooling organized, labeled, and ready to go.
• Support machinists and production teams.
• Assist with tooling maintenance and higher‑level troubleshooting.
• Follow all 6S, ISO/quality, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Manufacturing experience preferred (1+ year ideal).
• Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on mindset.
• Ability to assemble and tear down tooling.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and team‑focused approach.

Schedule

Appleton, WI – Monday through Friday, 1st shift, full‑time.
