Tool Room Attendant
About the role
The Tool Crib Attendant supports operations at W-Industries' manufacturing facility, focusing on maintaining tool room inventory, issuing and receiving tools and equipment, and ensuring technicians and production personnel have the necessary tools to perform their work safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the tool room inventory, including issuing, receiving, tracking, and organizing tools and equipment.
- Inspect returned tools and equipment to ensure they are clean, functional, and ready for reuse.
- Cook up tool repairs, replacements, and maintenance as needed.
- Track tool usage and maintain accurate inventory records within internal systems.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move tools, equipment, and materials throughout the facility.
- Receive incoming shipments of tools, parts, and shop supplies; verify quantities and organize storage locations.
- Support shop personnel by locating and distributing tools, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and assembly activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tool room and storage areas.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines when handling equipment and materials.
- Communicate with supervisors, procurement, and production teams regarding tool needs and shortages.
Requirements
- Forklift experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain certification).
- Familiarity with industrial tools, shop equipment, and fabrication environments is strongly preferred.
- Basic computer skills for tracking inventory and maintaining records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility, fabrication shop, warehouse, or tool room environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist.
- Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
- Ability to distinguish colors.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Hours are flexible but typically require a regular weekday schedule.
