Responsibilities

• Operate all Tool Room machines and equipment proficiently, including layout and assembly in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Construct, repair, maintain, and calibrate shop tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, patterns, core boxes, machine and equipment parts, furniture, and shipping containers.
• Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines (including CNC mills), drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc, and acetylene welding, burn out, and edm.
• Use all machinist and pattern maker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully.
• Fabricate, assemble, construct, and repair metal or wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes, and dies from prints, sketches, or templates.
• Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments.
• Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .0001.
• Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor.
