Tool & Die Technician

About the role

Westlake Royal Building Products, a vinyl siding manufacturer in Columbus OH, has a full-time opening for a Tool & Die Technician. This position supports our vinyl siding extrusion operation by leading a group tasked with installing and maintaining the tooling used to develop vinyl siding product profiles.

Responsibilities

• Monitors PVC extrusion operations to ensure the tool and die group is adequately supporting production
• Investigates and resolves product or process problems related to tooling
• Reads and properly interprets production schedules, product drawings, tooling drawings, and bills of process
• Gathers and analyzes data to determine potential problems with the tooling and effectively reports findings
• Identifies and develops process control improvement opportunities
• Communicates effectively – includes ability to listen, follow instructions, identify and record problems, and make recommendations to correct discrepancies
• Physical demands: stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. frequently; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus; mobility to cover 2 facilities (North & South Plant)
• Work environment: fast-paced manufacturing facility; noise level commensurate with large machinery; ear and eye protection must be worn at all times; steel toed shoes and long pants required; temperatures affected by outside weather conditions.

Requirements

• One (1) year of industrial experience

Qualifications

• Desired: AWS basic welding certification

Pay

Pay range $24.00‑$27.46 per hour + $1,000 sign‑on bonus

Schedule

Work 3‑4 shifts per week and have a 3‑day weekend every other week!
