About the role

The nVent Apprenticeship Program is State certified through Apprentice Ohio and nationally recognized. The NTMA-U online learning program delivers the classroom instruction required for the program. nVent covers 100% of the tuition costs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
  • Work well with their hands and have a strong eye for detail.
  • Set-up and operate all machine tools in a tool room environment including but not limited to, conventional mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, grinders and CNC equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum guidance.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Trade school experience is preferred (Machining, Fabrication, etc).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Ability to use standard tools and measurement devices such as micrometers, scales, rulers, depth gauges and calipers.
  • Physical and environmental demands of working in the tool room and trouble shooting in the press room.

  • Willingness to learn and thrive in an environment where hands-on instruction is provided.
  • Highly detail-oriented and a perfectionist.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of engineering, science, design, and technology.
