Crown’s Beverage Division leads the industry with cutting-edge technologies for beverage cans, offering a large printable surface area, diverse sizes, shapes, and decorating options to create compelling brand presence. This role is based in Winchester, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining operations including turning, facing, threading, drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, milling, grinding, knurling, rolling, and cutting on various materials to exacting tolerances and micro-finish requirements.
• Design, machine, troubleshoot, and assemble special tooling into production dies.
• Apply thorough knowledge of machine shop and tool room practices, material properties, and tooling principles to fabricate and repair parts.
• Repair or alter end and can dies, including manufacturing replacement parts from hardened tool steel and carbide.
• Use precision measuring instruments to assemble, fit, align, and adjust parts to exact tolerances.
• Manage tooling inventories, set up tool packs, measure precision tolerances, and assist with assembly set-ups.
• Study blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines needed for fabrication.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and other equipment to machine parts.
• Collaborate with the operations team to plan, troubleshoot, and analyze production and equipment issues, proposing solutions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Cross-training and multi-skilling in other functions will be expected.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as required.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs/platforms and climb ladders (including rolling ladders) up to 20 feet.

• Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to moving machinery and forklift traffic.
