About the role
Reich Tool & Design, a Menomonee Falls based, family-owned and operated Tool and Die manufacturer for 60 years, is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker. The qualified candidate will report to the Tool & Die Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Study, plan and coordinate projects with general supervision.
- Work with CNC, Wire, Waterjet and Inspection to coordinate workflow.
- Ability to provide solutions during jobs kick-offs and leadership on jobs.
- Capable of reviewing job details (before and during) to prevent errors; good decision maker; must frequently improvise.
- Coordinate and run multiple jobs.
- Perform part development, die tryout, die debug and tuning.
- Able to run all tool room machines.
- Strong performance in processing materials through the department, considering departmental workloads.
- Coincide with subcontracting and heat treating.
- Assume responsibility for dimensional accuracy and quality workmanship.
- Able to develop blanks to print with general supervision.
- Strong assembly skills; set-up and run tryout presses and feed lines.
- Lead and teach support personnel in the tool & die department.
- Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
- Re-route product for rework.
- Update design changes on CAD and submit to design department.
- Update all required paperwork and documentation.
- Provide leadership in debriefing meetings; giving candid feedback.
- Participate in self-directed work teams to address and resolve quality problems and to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
- Able to work overtime when requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
- Comply with all quality, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001-2015, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
- Commits to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
- Regular physical attendance is required.
- Travel, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or GED.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, GD & T, metrology and ability to read blueprints.
- Minimum 5-year apprenticeship and five years of practical experience.
- Ability to build metal stamping dies, fixtures and prototypes.
- Prior project management type experience in leading jobs demonstrating leadership skills.
- Knowledge of industry software CAD/CAM.
- Intermediate use of Microsoft software and computers in general.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Prior experience working with automotive, aerospace and medical industries.
- Prior machining or CNC operation a plus along with a Journey card.
- Prior manufacturing experience in a job shop.

Pay
Salary Range: $28.00 To $32.00 Hourly
Schedule
This is an 8-hour, in-person, first shift position Monday - Friday with possible overtime based on Company needs. Expected hours are 40 per week.
