Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, EDM machines, and surface grinders.
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling issues affecting production.
- Implement corrective actions or improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
- Document tooling changes, repairs, and revisions.
- Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Tool & Die or Toolmaking apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in toolmaking and precision machining.
- Proficiency in manual machining and operation of CNC equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, GD&T, and CAD drawings.
- Strong understanding of materials, heat treatment processes, tolerances, and machining principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to work off hours to resolve issues when production is down.
- SolidWorks Experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in stamping.
