Essential Functions

  • Create tool designs utilizing NX (Unigraphics) CAD system.
  • This requires being familiar with tool design and drafting standards of various customers and military.
  • Knowledge of layering, file naming conventions and geometric tolerance for major OEMs.
  • Work with internal Manufacturing Engineers to create tool designs in support of development hardware for various customers.
  • Designs include; dies, gages, composite part molds, lift & transport fixtures, small machines, assembly/disassembly, fixtures for milling, drilling, water jet, marking, surface treatment, grinding and turning.
  • Communicate with Design Supervisor, Estimators, Manufacturing Engineers and Shop Personnel to ensure customer requirements are met.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data.
  • High School Degree or G.E.D.
  • 1+ years of experience in Tool Design.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of Military & Commercial designs and standards.
  • Ability to use CAD software, NX preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% when required.

About the Role

Develops manufacturing tooling and equipment through the application of engineering fundamentals. Supports internal manufacturing as well as multiple Aerospace & Defense companies.
