Tomah Area School District: Multilingual Learner (ML) Teacher/Coordinator (K-12)

About the Role

Tomah Area School District is seeking an innovative educator for the position of Multilingual Learner (ML) Teacher/Coordinator (K-12) beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues, build positive relationships with students and parents, and foster community partnerships. This full-time position requires travel between schools and offers co-curricular coaching and advisor opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ML services, assessments, and programming for the District’s ML population.
• Organize courses for non-English speakers with diverse activities and methods covering speaking, writing, and comprehension.
• Create individualized educational plans based on student needs and evaluate progress through assessments.

Qualifications

• Possess or be eligible for WI DPI Certification #1395 (English as a Second Language) or #1023 (K-12 ESL/Bilingual).
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Hold a valid DPI teaching certification in any area and be willing to pursue an emergency license if needed.

Skills

• Strong background in WiMLSS, Professional Learning Communities, and Universal Design for Learning or Differentiated Instruction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with a positive attitude.
