TK Teacher's Aide
About the role
The TK Teacher's Aide plays a vital role in supporting the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom. This individual assists in creating a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment where young children can develop academically, socially, and spiritually.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans rooted in classical education, supporting integrated instruction across subjects such as language arts, mathematics, history, science, and the arts.
- Reinforce concepts introduced by the teacher through guided practice, repetition, and age-appropriate activities, providing additional support to students who need individualized attention.
- Lead small-group instruction and learning centers, facilitating hands-on, experiential activities that foster curiosity, attention, and a love of learning.
- Support students in developing foundational academic habits, including listening attentively, following directions, and engaging respectfully in classroom discussions.
- Provide a structured, nurturing, and joyful classroom environment that supports social-emotional growth and reflects Donum Dei’s Christ-centered mission.
- Supervise students during recess, enrichment classes, lunch, and transitions, ensuring safety, appropriate behavior, and smooth movement throughout the day.
- Assist with experiential learning opportunities such as class projects, performances, school events, and field trips, helping students participate meaningfully and responsibly.
- Model kindness, patience, and self-control, guiding students in positive peer interactions and conflict resolution.
- Prepare instructional materials, organize classroom supplies, and help maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming learning environment.
- Support classroom management by reinforcing expectations, routines, and procedures established by the Lead Teacher.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher and grade-level team to ensure consistency in instruction, student support, and daily operations.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training sessions to grow in instructional practices and support the mission of the school.
- Assist with parent-teacher conferences and communication as requested, offering thoughtful observations related to student progress, behavior, and engagement.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree
- Pursue the ACSI Teacher Certification, Classical Educator Equivalent, CA Teacher Credential, or Master’s in Classical Education within two years of initial employment.
Qualifications
- Professional working experience in relevant field(s).
- Commitment to ongoing training and spiritual formation throughout the year.

Compensation
Annual salary paid bi monthly. Optional partial tuition credit available.
Pay Range
55,000 - 60,000 USD per year (Campus)
