Job Overview
The teacher’s aide is an integral part of the children’s team and is responsible for supporting the teacher by facilitating a safe, productive classroom/nursery environment where infants/children's educational/child development needs are met. The primary responsibility of a teacher’s aide is to support the lead teacher by supervising young children, assisting with activities, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Implementing daily, age-appropriate activities.
- Serving as a support for classroom weekly lesson plans.
- Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment by monitoring infants/children in the classroom and playground.
- Assisting with hygiene tasks such as handwashing, diapering/toileting, and nap time supervision.
- Assisting with parenting and children development time.
- Providing daily/weekly parent feedback forms.
- Assisting with parent-teacher night.
- Providing one-on-one parenting for new mothers.
- Aiding in summer camp planning and implementation.
- Offering feedback during children’s team meetings.
Experience
1 year of prior experience in childcare, babysitting, or daycare.
Education Requirement
A High School Diploma or GED.
