About the role

The Titration Tech I is responsible for executing chemical analysis tasks supporting aerospace component processing. This includes operating plating lines, conducting titration and chemical tests, maintaining tank chemistry, and ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position supports production quality and process integrity through a combined technical role spanning chemical processing disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tests (chemistry/titration, pH, conductivity, etc.) on solutions and hazardous waste (wastewater).
  • Maintain inventory for all chemicals related to job function.
  • Conduct titration, pH, and conductivity tests on plating tanks and hazardous waste solutions.
  • Maintain traceability of all chemical sampling and analysis results in logs and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with chemical tank maintenance and replenishment schedules.
  • Assist with tank chemical additions, new tank setups, and tank disposal coordination.
  • Interpret technical documents including blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated.
  • Support continuous improvement in chemical processing quality.
  • Participate in safety and technical training related to chemical lab operations.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering for all NADCAP-related topics.
  • Inspect and monitor equipment daily; report malfunctions to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Ensure all tools and machines are operated safely and maintained in good working condition.
  • Follow blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers to ensure product quality.
  • Meet all internal and customer plating specifications and standards.
  • Identify and escalate any nonconformance issues or deviations in process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and plating specifications.
  • Adhere to and implement all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Comply with rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Attend all required training and adhere to HSE procedures, policies, and plans.
  • Report any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management immediately.
  • Seek opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting results.
  • Implement and suggest waste elimination initiatives such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or metal processing preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace plating or familiarity with NADCAP standards is a plus.
  • Must maintain either no facial hair or a NIOSH-approved beard pursuant to Cal/OSHA regulations and pass an annual respirator fit test.
  • Basic proficiency with mainframe computer systems, spreadsheet, and word processing software; familiarity with database systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and basic technical procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to read code/machine language, write basic reports, and instructions.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and standard units of measurement.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and follow instructions in written and basic diagram formats.
  • Demonstrated application of problem-solving techniques while prioritizing workload and tasks.

Skills

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Quality Assurance and manufacturing processes, including flow, layout, assembly, and inspection equipment. Good understanding of Geometric Tolerance per ANSI Y14.5. Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, height gages, ring gages, pin gages, go/no-go pin gages, optical comparator, and microscopes. Reads and understands blueprints.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Requires speaking or listening and eye-hand coordination, repetitive hand and arm movement, and manual dexterity.
  • Must regularly bend, reach to shoulder level, and lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing level within normal/average range.

Work Environment

  • Moderate to loud noise level in the work environment.
  • Compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental, and hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
  • Required to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas.
  • Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture.
  • Respect and ensure respect for instructions and rules in health, safety, and environment (LISI golden rules).
  • Immediately correct or report any malfunction or risky situation in health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Implement preventive actions to reduce environmental footprint and control health and safety risks.
  • Participate in risk and incident analyses and HSE working groups related to professional scope.
  • Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and environmental impacts relating to the scope of work.
  • Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives.
  • Make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact.
