Title Technician, Assembly Test - Repair/Overhaul

TRIUMPH designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs, and overhauls aviation and industrial components, accessories, subassemblies, systems, and aircraft structures. We partner with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and operators worldwide to provide products and services that solve complex aerospace challenges. Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems specializes in hydraulic actuators, valves, manifolds, fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars, serving major aircraft manufacturers and the U.S. Navy.

About the Role

This position involves assembling complex mechanical and hydraulic products, performing functional testing and failure analysis, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The role operates on an annual rotation between 1st and 3rd shifts with a 15% shift premium for 3rd shift. Overtime, including occasional weekends, is required.

• 1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• 3rd Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly, functional tests, test setups, and finish operations on product lines per blueprints and planning with minimal supervision.
• Conduct functional tests to maximize quality and productivity while working on multiple machines.
• Determine assembly operation sequences in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control to optimize productivity and quality.
• Identify opportunities for computer automation and methods improvement in functional test applications.
• Perform failure analysis and determine corrective actions with Design Engineering and Quality Control.
• Maintain orderly and retrievable records of work performed, including test setups, shop books, photos, and procedures.
• Work with hazardous chemicals such as acetone, alcohol, HFE-72DE, paints, sealants, bonding solvents, paint stripper, solvents, and paint thinners, including prolonged exposure to caustic oils like Aerospace Hydraulic Fluid.
• Set up and conduct tests and experiments on components and complete units to evaluate design characteristics and performance.
• Some heavy lifting required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Safety-oriented with a willingness to participate in continuous improvement discussions.
• General mechanical knowledge/background.
• Preferred knowledge of advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic theory and formulas.

Skills

• Safe use of hand/power tools.
• Knowledge of precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic diagrams (preferred).
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Problem-solving during test evaluations.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and participate in process improvement projects.

Pay

Position pay range: $22.81 - $32.20 per hour. Hiring range may differ based on education, qualifications, and experience.
