Title Supervisor, Machining

The Operations Second Shift Machining Supervisor will ensure production alignment with delivery requirements as scheduled to meet customer ship dates through coordination of manufacturing job requirements, personnel, and capacity considerations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Second Shift Machining team, establishes performance objectives, monitors fulfillment of goals, and conducts performance appraisals.
• Provides training, development, coaching, and discipline as needed.
• Reviews weekly/daily production reports and advises management of anticipated constraints such as material or capacity shortages, engineering changes, and other limitations that may impact delivery.
• Interacts with Quality Assurance, Materials, Program Management, Planning, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Engineering to ensure product movement through all operational processes.
• Maintains and monitors job priorities, on-time delivery for each cell, production adherence, and efficiency.
• Develops capabilities within the training matrix to support Cell Leads and the Manufacturing Manager for seamless product flow through Machining.
• Exemplifies and fosters teamwork within the Machining Team and broader organization.
• Responds promptly to concerns, issues, and suggestions to ensure positive employee relations.
• Communicates processes, standards, specifications, and technical data to meet manufacturing, FAA, and company quality requirements.
• Key contributor to teams including Daily GEMBA, Machining HPT, and RTRT, working closely with the Planning team to support sales commitments and align production schedules.
• Initiates, drives, and supports continuous improvement activities to promote process improvements and efficiency gains.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (minimum education required).
• At least five (5) years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and supervision.

Skills

• Strong verbal and email communication skills.
• Proficiency in data management via Excel, ERP, etc.
• Ability to motivate and develop employees.
• Training and self-directed skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
• Policy and procedure development.
• Ability to read and write English.
• CNC Machining experience.

Physical Requirements

Work may require sitting and/or standing for up to 8 hours per day, lifting.
