About the role
The Material Handler is responsible for shipping, receiving and transporting packaging, ingredients, and finished goods for the facility. This position is with Great Kitchens, Inc., part of the Rich Products family of companies.
Responsibilities
- Observe all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and material handling.
- Follow all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
- Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, water levels, lights, horn, tires, mirrors, oil levels, and backup beep indicators.
- Verify all deliveries/discrepancies by inspecting materials through physically counting and comparing the amount printed on the delivery receipt.
- Enter necessary documentation of delivery receipts or material handling into the company's computer system.
- Organize and rotate old materials with new.
- Perform daily removal/fix of any dirty, torn, hanging, or broken wood, packaging, ingredients, etc.
- Assist management with inventory balances through physical cycle counts.
- Label any open or partial ingredient and packaging.
- Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and ingredients as needed.
- Perform all other warehouse and freezer duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must read, write, and speak English.
- Must possess basic math and computer skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- One year or more of material handling experience.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
- Vision abilities must include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Hearing ability must meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.
- Must be able to operate all forklift equipment.
- Must be trained and recertified annually for forklift license.
- Must be able to work in an extremely cold environment.
Pay
Annual Range/Hourly Rate: $19.80 - $19.80.
