Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Job Responsibilities

• Captures material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control’s request.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Affirms production schedules by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods.
• Assists during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and performing all necessary computer transactions.
• Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts.
• When assigned, assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs and interviewing/hiring.
• Maintains shop floor control systems.
• Fulfills safety procedures, wears proper PPE, proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions, studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement, and proposes changes to Materials Manager.

• Basic math and computer skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
• Forklift Certification a plus.
