Title IX Coordinator

About the role

SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for the position of Title IX Coordinator. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Title IX Coordinator coordinates the university's Title IX compliance efforts around prevention, response, and remedy regarding sex discrimination experienced by students, employees, and others. The position is located in Brockport, NY, within the Division of Student Affairs, Department of Student Affairs. It is a full-time, management confidential role.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts across the University to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to antidiscrimination laws and policies.
• Coordinate and monitor Title IX efforts of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator(s) and University offices that receive and/or investigate complaints, including Human Resources, Student Conduct, Residential Life and Learning Communities, University Police, and Athletics.
• In consultation with the offices of the Student Affairs Division, Student Conduct, Human Resources, University Police, and Athletics, monitor University policy and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal law and regulations.
• Meet and communicate with reporting individuals to provide information regarding available resources and reporting and resolution options, responding appropriately and sensitively to the nature of the complaint.
• Conduct initial investigations on reports and, as appropriate, conduct full discrimination complaint investigations.
• Coordinate and oversee Title IX compliance in relation to the University's athletic programs and interface with the Director of Athletics, their staff, and outside consultants.
• Working with the Title IX Representatives Committee, develop and implement a long-term vision for the University around programs, services, education, and assessment of Title IX, VAWA, and NYS 129‑B programs and prevention efforts, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
• Develop content for the University's Title IX webpage.
• Regularly attend Title IX educational training programs to ensure compliance with Title IX investigative standards and continuously identify and integrate best practices.
• Maintain accurate and complete records in database software, Maxient.
• Coordinate the development and delivery of University-wide education, training, and outreach programming related to Title IX, VAWA, and NYS
