Title I Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant III - Sedway, MS.

9-month position, 7 hours per day.

Primary work location: Marvin Sedway Middle School, North Las Vegas.

About the role

This is an entry-level, full-time para-professional support-staff position within the Clark County School District.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff in the delivery of instructional services to students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support under the direction of a licensed educator.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
• Perform clerical duties related to classroom operations as assigned.
• Assist with student supervision, including monitoring during non-instructional periods.
• Support students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Operate and assist students with instructional and assistive technology as directed.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 48 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Assessment OR two years of full-time equivalent experience working with children in an educational or child-care setting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Department of Education Paraprofessional Certificate of Competency.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software applications.
• Must pass a criminal background check and meet all district health and safety requirements.
