Title I - Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant III (School-Wide) - McWilliams ES.

9-month position, 7 hours per day. Program: LRE (One-on-One) – Intermediate Grades 3-5. Primary work location: J.T. McWilliams Elementary School, Las Vegas.

About the Role

Provide one-on-one support to students in grades 3-5 within the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Provide direct instructional support to assigned student(s) under the supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Assist with behavior management and reinforcement of positive behavior strategies.
• Support student(s) in academic, social, and daily living skills as outlined in the IEP.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Assist with personal care tasks as needed (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility).
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to support student success.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following:
  • Sixty (60) college credits from an accredited institution, or
  • Associate’s degree or higher, or
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent local assessment.
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must provide proof of negative tuberculosis (TB) test within the last year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
