Title I Literacy - Secondary - 195 Day

About the Role

This position supports Tier I and Tier II Literacy instruction aligned with Virginia Department of Education Instructional standards and effective literacy teaching practices. The Title I Secondary Literacy Teacher collaborates with school instructional staff and leadership to provide targeted literacy support without supplanting existing staffing or roles within school district allocations.

Focus areas include effective literacy teaching practices, unpacking and understanding standards, and task-standard alignment within Tier II. The role serves as a literacy teacher leader, assisting teachers with differentiated instruction, data-driven decision-making, and coaching practices to accelerate student learning in accordance with Title I, Part A grant requirements and PWCS policies.

Responsibilities

• Support Tier I and Tier II Literacy instruction aligned with Virginia Department of Education standards.

• Ensure task-standard alignment within Tier II instruction.
