Location: Carl, Kay Elementary School – Las Vegas

Schedule: 9-month position, 6 hours per day

About the Role

The Resource Room program provides specialized academic support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This para-professional position assists the special education teacher in delivering instruction and implementing student accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher in delivering small-group and one-on-one instruction to students with IEPs.
• Implement student accommodations and modifications as outlined in IEPs.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs under teacher supervision.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Maintain a structured, organized, and positive learning environment in the resource room.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Assist with classroom management, materials preparation, and clerical tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • 48 college credits from an accredited institution, or
  • Associate’s degree or higher, or
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent state-approved exam.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work collaboratively, and maintain confidentiality.
• Must complete the entire three-year work history in the "Experience and Credentials" section of the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.
