Responsibilities
- Assist certified staff in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in the Resource Room program.
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of the special education teacher.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction as assigned.
- Assist with classroom management, behavior support, and student supervision.
- Prepare instructional materials and adapt classroom activities to meet student needs.
- Monitor and document student progress as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the special education teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Completion of at least 60 semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution, or
- Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, or
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent local assessment.
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and maintain professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
