Tissue Recovery Tech (palliative, death care)

About the role

As a Tissue Recovery Technician, you will work on a team that recovers post‑mortem musculoskeletal and/or cardiovascular tissues using surgical techniques within a three‑hour radius of Memphis, TN. You will act as the surgeon performing the recovery, and we provide the training needed for success.

Responsibilities

• Recover post‑mortem musculoskeletal and/or cardiovascular tissues using aseptic surgical techniques.
• Travel to hospitals within the donor service area using a company vehicle.
• Participate in on‑call rotations (24‑hour shifts, 15‑16 days per month, including weekends and holidays).
• Maintain compliance with tissue recovery protocols and documentation.

Requirements

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and human anatomy.
• Experience as an EMT, Autopsy Technician, Surgical Technician, or in a funeral home setting.

Skills

• Aseptic technique proficiency.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy.

Pay

Salaried range: $41,000 – $53,000 per year, based on experience, plus eligibility for overtime pay.

Schedule

Full‑time position with on‑call requirements: 24‑hour shifts, approximately 15‑16 days per month, including some weekends and holidays. Use of a company vehicle for travel to hospitals.
