Tire Technician

About the role

This full-time Tire Technician position at Team Elmer's Traverse City location involves repairing and replacing tires on a variety of assets, including cars, trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Replace tires and tire-related parts.
• Properly secure assets to lifts to ensure safe operation.
• Dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on assets.
• Dismount and remount tires onto wheels without damaging components.
• Operate all related equipment and tools as trained.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Evaluate tires, determining proper use versus misuse.
• Handle and perform road call repairs.
• Assist in accurate inventory control.
• Complete all required paperwork and computer-related tasks.
• Know and follow all OSHA, MSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A, preferred.
• Clean driving record for the past 5 years.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
• Tire repair certification and/or previous experience.
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Able to handle unexpected situations at a moment’s notice.
• Strong work ethic.
• Computer knowledge.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment, machines, and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
