Tire Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking full-time Tire Mechanics for our Wilmington, OH Service Center. This is a fast-paced environment focused on changing, repairing, and maintaining tractor-trailer tires on class 8 fleet vehicles. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Change and repair tires on class 8 fleet vehicles
• Mount and dismount truck and car tires
• Operate off- and on-truck balancer
• Perform service calls on the road with a service truck
• Identify and interpret tire D.O.T. information
• Apply out-of-service criteria
• Distinguish between retread and new tires
• Identify wheel types and select proper fasteners
• Operate a 1" air wrench and basic hand tools
• Properly tighten all wheel types
• Repair tractor-trailer tires to company standards

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of commercial tire experience
• Ability to lift up to 125 lbs
• Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods
• Valid operator’s license and clean MVR

Pay

Up to $31.28 per hour

• Earn 1 week of vacation after 90 days of employment
